The first national trade association built entirely for this industry.
The cottage food industry has been growing for more than a decade — slowly, quietly, one kitchen at a time. Across the country, home bakers, jam makers, candy crafters, and small-batch food producers have been building businesses, navigating confusing laws, and figuring things out largely on their own.
NCFA was founded to change that. The National Cottage Food Alliance is the first trade association dedicated entirely to this industry at a national level.
Founded in Minnesota and organized as a trade association with 501(c)(6) nonprofit status actively in process, NCFA is built to represent the collective business interests of cottage food producers across all 50 states. Our goal isn't just to serve our members — it's to elevate the entire industry.
To strengthen the cottage food industry by providing education, business resources, strategic partnerships, professional development, and community support for producers at every stage of business growth.
What we stand for
Organized to do more for the industry.
NCFA is organized as a trade association actively pursuing 501(c)(6) status — the same designation used by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and thousands of industry associations across the country. This structure allows us to:
Actively advocate for policy change at the state and federal level
Accept membership dues and use them directly for industry benefit
Operate CottageFoodieCon as an official NCFA event
Establish founding partner and sponsorship relationships
The founding board
NCFA is led by a founding board dedicated to building an organization that truly serves the cottage food community.
Be part of building something lasting.
NCFA was made possible by the commitment of our founding partner organizations — businesses and brands who believed in this mission before there was a membership base to show for it. Founding partners receive permanent recognition in NCFA history, elevated visibility, and a direct role in shaping the organization's early direction.
Founding Partner opportunities are coming soon. Sign up below to be notified when they open.
